I really understand the ...</title><content type='html'>Thanks for the comment! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really understand the wide skepticism. And it is true that _if_ you decide to use their DNS, you are leaving even more traces at Googles side. I also agree that net neutrality is more than independent DNS. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But DNS is one crucial piece. From the technical side of this: I didn&amp;#39;t have a fast and reliable alternative to my provider&amp;#39;s DNS up until now. BTW I have quicker replies from Google DNS (8.8.8.8) than from my provider&amp;#39;s DNS. This may be due to the fact that I live next to Frankfurt-Fechenheim. Here in Germany providers did (and still do) manipulate DNS queries and I have issues relying on them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From the political side, I wouldn&amp;#39;t try explain my standpoint - since I am somewhat of a fanboy ;) But I do want to say that I mainly base my speculations on their actions and the compare it to other companies.
